These apples are sweet-tart, and very aromatic. They are a great all purpose apple, but they will soften faster than some other varieties.

McIntosh are an early apple, usually ready first to second week of September.

John McIntosh, a farmer in Dundela, Ontario, cultivated the first tree from a wild seedling in 1811.

Because of this, the McIntosh is widely considered Canada’s National apple!
